Katie T. Kurtzman has a decade of book publicity experience with top New York City-based publishing houses including Simon & Schuster, Penguin Young Readers, and Henry Holt. Most recently, she assumed a directorial role at literary powerhouse Farrar, Straus & Giroux. Active in the literary community, she is a member of the Brooklyn Book Festival publicity committee and publicity director for Littsburgh: Celebrating Literary Pittsburgh.
Katie specializes in booking media and organizing events for a wide range of titles and genres including literary fiction, mystery, politics, cookbooks, history, memoir, and children’s books. With KTK Publicity, she develops creative and results-driven publicity campaigns focusing on media outreach and placement, social media, and event planning.
Katie has worked with a great number of bestselling and award-winning authors such as Rick Atkinson, Sheila Heti, Governor Mike Huckabee, Bill McKibben, Nicholson Baker, A.J. Jacobs, Congressman Barney Frank, Dr. Sandeep Jauhar, former Director of CIA Operations Jack Devine, Meg Wolitzer, and Oliver Jeffers. She has enjoyed many publicity adventures including playing the Atlantic City slot machines with Jackie Robinson’s daughter, dining with childhood hero Judy Blume, killing time in a green room with Beyoncé, 50 Cent commenting on her height, one-on-one time with Lois Lowry, and assisting President Jimmy Carter with his sports coat.
